What a fantastic attendance at this evenings book launch of ‘Voices of Hawick Rugby’. Those who made it down to Mansfield Park were treated to reading by several contributors, Keith Cunningham, Evelyn Douglas, Gary Alexander, Rob Cowie and Kenny McCartney, who took the assembled audience on a truly memorable and emotional journey about what the Green Jersey meant to him, wearing his heart on his sleeve throughout. Then finally a rendition of ‘Hosie’s Whustle’ by the one and only Henry Douglas, accompanied by Shankend Mac.

This is a very special book folks! It’s not a history of Hawick RFC, that has already been well documented in previous publications. This book is about our club and our community and what Hawick rugby means to each of the more than 170 contributors and how it has affected and influenced their lives. Go on…..treat yourselves 💚🏉 The book will now be available in the Dorward’s, and ILF Imaging shops in Hawick, together with Hawick Museum, in Wilton Lodge Park and the Hawick RFC Club Shop on Saturday afternoons when the team are at home. With Christmas just around the corner this would make a wonderful gift.
