The harsh reality of the divisions within the Scottish Premiership were laid bare yesterday when Ayr visited Mansfield Park, resulting in a particularly one sided affair. 

With a powerful, talented and deep squad, built through their Super Series involvement, and retained for this initial 12 team realignment season, Ayr were too much for a brave young Greens squad, which although severely depleted by injury as this season has progressed, never gave up. The men from the West however were relentless and clinical as they have been all season.

Doubtless there will be an honest appraisal at training this week, and the Greens will look to regroup and focus on Melrose and their visit to the Greenyards this coming Saturday.
